Wagga View - Our Future in Focus

Consultation has concluded

What is our vision? What do we want Wagga Wagga to look like in 2040? How do we get there?

As a community it is important for us to have a document that defines how we want to grow into the future. We also need to outline what we want and need as a community now. This document is called a Community Strategic Plan (CSP). This plan guides us all in how to achieve these goals and how we can measure if we are on track or not.

During May and June 2016, the Wagga View team were out and about across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area collecting ideas, thoughts and opinions on how our city can be even better in the future.

Since this time the team also met with a range of community organisations and stakeholders and collated all the responses into Wagga View the draft Community Strategic Plan – 2040.

This plan was placed on public exhibition from 22 November to 20 December 2016 and during this time the team undertook a number of engagement activities to provide the community the final opportunity to review what had been created so far. Over the public exhibition period, the team were able to engage a number of community members and all feedback and comments as well as formal submissions were considered, and where appropriate amendments were made to the plan.

The plan along with a summary of submissions and amendments was presented to the meeting of Council on Monday 27 February and we are very proud to say the plan was unanimously endorsed.

We would like to thank the Wagga Wagga Community for your involvement in the process and we look forward to working with you into the future.

Wagga View - Community Strategic Plan – 2040 can be found here and also on Council’s website.

Wagga View Race
The Wagga View Race was run and won earlier in the year. Three teams raced through the streets of Wagga competing in a series of activities to reflect the livability of our city.

The teams learnt about a range of aspects of community life, from transport and safety to emergency response, waste management and more.

See how the teams went and who took out the Wagga View Race title by watching the video below.

Thanks to Waggawagga.tv for their partnership and support in creating the Wagga View Race video.

Share your Wagga View photos!

The Wagga View team ran a photo competition for all residents to submit images of what they love about Wagga Wagga and its surrounding villages.

A selection of the photos were used throughout the Wagga View Community Strategic Plan.

Vision Week

Welcome to Wagga View - Our Future in Focus. Feel free to share your comments and thoughts on the Wagga Wagga Community Strategic Plan here. This plan is a document created by the community, for the community.

Thank you to the great corporate strategy team from Wagga council for their excellent work to date on seeking input from the community and putting together the draft themes and strategies for the new 'Wagga View' community strategic plan. Wagga can be a model city for Australia if many of these ideas can be implemented. I visited the exhibition at Wagga library today and recommend to others that they take the time to have their own views included in the plan.
