Year One Progress Report

Wagga Wagga City Council can be a strong change agent and leader to improve the city to ensure outcomes from the four key areas. We want Wagga to be a liveable community for all, one which has facilities and services which increase opportunity for all community members with a diverse range of needs, to engage with and maintain independence in everyday community life.

The objectives of Wagga Wagga City Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan are to:

  • developing positive community attitudes and behaviours
  • creating liveable communities
  • supporting access to meaningful employment
  • improving access to services through better systems and processes

Below is a summary of Council's progress and success in implementing the the Disability Inclusion Action Plan over the first 12 months.

Attitudes and Behaviours

Wagga Wagga City Council is aiming to improve community wide attitudes and behaviours towards people living with a disability through promoting awareness of ability, understanding barriers to access and changing language to reflect the capabilities of individuals.
